There is a lot to be said for sowing seed in fertile ground. The Corbin's are pioneers in children's ministry. They are missionaries at heart, having lived in South Africa for 23 years. They have trained and mentored thousands of children's workers. The Corbin's are good, fertile ground. Ed and Sonja must first support themselves, in order to be free to invest in the lives of African children. The Corbin's have always been in ministry, so they have no company pension other than a small social security benefit. Every penny needed for their monthly support comes from friends and family and churches across America.
Release the Children is a 501c3 Non for Profit Corporation. Seldom does an African church give an offering to an American Missionary. In other words, ministry in Africa does not pay for itself. The Corbin's will be financially on their own and therefore responsible for all their own expenses, such as housing, utilities, food, medical expenses, vehicles, transportation, etc.
Raising up the Next Generation of Spirit Empowered Children's Ministers
Ed and Sonja are mentors and trainers. Leaders from across southern Africa point to the Corbin's and the ministry of Jackson's Ridge as being instrumental in the development of their ministries.
Ed and Sonja are returning to Africa to raise up the Next Generation of Spirit-Empowered Children's Ministers who will reach the children with the Gospel and disciple them to become passionate followers of Christ and change-agents in their communities.
Releasing Children into their God-given Destiny
Every child has needs and the greatest of all is a need to develop a personal relationship with Jesus. Every child can learn to hear the voice of God and discover his own God-given destiny.
Ed and Sonja are all about presenting the Gospel message to every child...everywhere in Africa and beyond. That is why they have travelled to Ireland, Vietnam and the Philippines. They have a gift for commanding the attention of an audience, presenting the Gospel in a clear and concise manner on the comprehension level of a child and then leading them into a supernatural experience with God.
